NO-vember
It’s tempting to keep saying Yes to things...
To please people, be helpful, to avoid upsetting others, just because you can...
The list goes on, but saying Yes can be harmful, and is a hard habit to break.
As a business owner, you’re pulled from pillar to post and it feels like all the people you care about – your team, customers, family, prospects, friends, suppliers, business partners – all want a piece of you.
And more often than not, people expect an instant reaction, or instant gratification.
Whilst you feel you don’t want to let people down, saying Yes to everything will only overwhelm you, and distract you from your end goals.
So, this week is a quick reminder that:
“Saying YES to something, means saying NO to something else.”
Here are two ways to help keep you on track, focused, and help you manage your time effectively:
Focus on Money Now:
Allocate time for activities that drive your revenue TODAY.
Focus on Money Future:
Dedicate time on activities that will drive your business going forwards and set you up for your FUTURE (i.e., finding new clients, developing a new business model, working on your exit plan etc).
If you’re still being constantly bombarded with requests, rather than saying Yes to each of them, you need to look at why this is and proactively look at ways to:
Eliminate
Simplify, or
Delegate
There’s nothing wrong with saying No, it’s all about delivering the message back, and keeping you on track to your end goals for your business and life.
