The Killer of Dreams

The Killer of Dreams

April 28, 20261 min read

There’s a lot to be said for being comfortable in business; it can feel less hectic, and you can take your foot off the gas for a little while for a temporary re-charge.

But it’s our experience that being comfortable is NOT a good place to be for business owners. You see, they:

  • Start coasting...

  • Procrastinate on projects and take longer to make decisions...

  • Get (even more) distracted by shiny new things...

  • Stop looking forwards...

  • Play it too safe and stop taking risks...

  • Start wasting time on “stuff” and stop focusing on those things that are going to make a real difference.

Being comfortable inevitably leads you to stop growing and kills all those dreams you had when you set out to challenge the status quo and change the world, all those years ago.

Plus, the mind equates predictability with safety but staying too comfortable means that you fail to build the resilience needed for unexpected events.

This week, take a look in the mirror and answer honestly if you’ve become a bit too comfortable lately? A little complacent?Could you be pushing the boundaries more? Are you surrounded by people who aren’t challenging you enough?

Because I bet you that your competitors aren’t comfortable – so don’t give them room!
