The Most Valuable Currency You Have

The Most Valuable Currency You Have

February 17, 20261 min read

When someone mentions the word “currency”, it’s always associated with money.

Yes, money is important…

But this week I’m here to remind you that Time is the MOST valuable currency you have.

We all know you can’t buy any more time than 24 hours a day, no matter how rich you are.

So, logic says we must use it wisely.

The reason Jacki and I both left our very well paid senior corporate jobs to set-up our own business was to earn money to BUY time.

As most of you know we lost our first daughter, Lou, who would have been 16 years old this week.

So, we created a business to buy us time.

At that point we didn’t know that Lily and James (now 14!) would enter our lives. But, when they did, we were set.

When we think of time and look at ours, we came to realise that we can do anything, but we can’t do everything!

And the problem for most business owners is they're too busy trying to do everything (often with less effect) because they don’t have these five things:

  • Clear plans to achieve their goals.

  • Strategies to achieve the plans.

  • Time allocated to execute the plans.

  • Life balance along the way.

  • Integrity to keep to the above.

This week, allocate some proper time to answer these two questions:

  1. What should you be doing with your time?

  2. What's stopping you?

As Abraham Lincoln said:

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
