Still Love What You Do?

As a fellow business owner, I know first-hand how rewarding running your own business and being your own boss can be: the flexibility, freedom, choices, creating a legacy …. the list goes on.

BUT it can also be overwhelming, frustrating, stressful, and extremely lonely.

So, being Valentine’s Day later this week, it’s a timely reminder that you must:

Love What You Do

[It’s one of our Maxims].

When I talk to owners, I always start with trying to understand why they took that brave pill and set-up their own business in the first place.

Some give an immediate answer, describing their goals succinctly, along with their ambitions and “tropical island” retirement plans.

But MOST skirt around the edges of the start of their journey, briefly drift off into the immediate future, and then arrive back at describing the functions of running their business and all the obstacles they face.

They’ve lost sight and got thrown off track along the way.

And worst of all, they’ve fallen out of love with their business.

Once we delve deeper, the emotions come out because either no one has ever asked them this question, or they’ve simply forgotten why.

I want to help YOU reignite and re-engage with everything about your business starting with these two simple questions:

  1. What do you want out of your business?

  2. What are you prepared to do, to get that?

DON’T get distracted by your email box, get dragged into the day-to-day, or adopt the “but that will never happen” mentality…

DO think about what you want in life for you, your family, your future – along with when you want to achieve these by.

Until you have done this properly, you will always be on the hamster wheel running harder and faster but not getting any further forwards. Which isn’t a fun place to be.

If you need a chat, need a bit of help getting back on track, or some (tough) love, you know where we are.
