Are You Making a Living, Or Making a Life?

Churchill once said:

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

It’s a scientific fact that doing good really does feel good; studies show it decreases stress, increases life expectancy, improves our mental health, leads to happiness, and doing good makes you want to do MORE good!

Jacki and I recently held our I don’t work Fridays 4x4 Charity Challenge where 110 children from the two local sports clubs that we sponsor – Camberley Town Youth Football Club and Yateley Silverbacks Basketball Club – took on one another in a variety of sports.  These clubs do so much for all of our children not only giving them an outlet to have fun but also teaching them essential life skills as well as football and basketball.  It was a great fun family day out, and the icing on the cake was that our event raised £6,000 not only for the clubs, but for Sands, who help save babies’ lives and support bereaved families, in memory of our daughter Louise.

Being A Force For Good In Your Business...

Being a force for good will move your Business Model from Push to Pull, allowing you to attract more loyal clients and to become a magnet for the best talent out there.

And not only are you helping others who most need it, it makes you and those around you feel good, and it takes you from being a standard business to a standout business.

And in order to do this, you need to:

  • Define your impact.

  • Make people the core of your culture.

  • Have a system in place to measure the outcomes (not just the outputs).

We are fortunate to be in a position to help others, whether they be business owners, our community, charities, or other bereaved families.

And it’s why we love what we do.

Finally, a MASSIVE thank you to everyone in our wonderful business community who donated or contributed a raffle prize...

(And if you’re feeling generous and didn’t get a chance to, you can still donate online at https://gofund.me/d85a2642)

Have a great week.
