Re. Your Productivity
Today is World Productivity Day so a timely reminder to check in to see how productive you really are.
I know you’re busy…
But are you being efficient and effective?
You and your team face barriers to productivity every day:
- Distractions and interruptions
- Lack of information
- Ineffective communication
- Unclear priorities
- Insufficient training
- Inadequate tools and equipment
- Lack of motivation
- Stress
- Too much to do…
So, here are 4 ways to help you be more Productive, right now:
1). Your 90 Minutes
To be as productive as possible, it’s important to keep up with good habits, the first is to start spending 90 minutes every day on the stuff that really matters (if you’re new to this concept, read Build Your Business In 90 Minutes A Day by Nigel Botterill).
2). The Barriers
Write down all the barriers (in your workplace and home life) that cause you to be less productive.
3). Use The 80/20 Rule
80 percent of the results come from 20 percent of the efforts. Identify the most important 20 percent of your work and cut down the other 80 percent of your schedule to allow you to find more time for things that make the biggest impact.
4). Stop Interruptions
There’re just three reasons you’re being interrupted…
- “I don’t know how to” – fix by documenting the process and producing a manual.
- “I’m not allowed to” – give, or up the level of, authority to your team as required.
- “I need stroking” – find ways to give your team praise and attention, such as 1:1 feedback and daily team huddles.
So, get those 90 minutes in your diary and here’s to a productive week!

PS If you’re still not convinced, here’s a few ways we’ve helped business owners and leaders like you with their Productivity:
“Martin’s tools and tips have helped increase productivity in my business by more than 50%. We’ve moved from ‘firefighting’ into a position where I have been able to grow my business thanks to a focused goal, new services, and of course, increases in efficiencies.” – Keith
“The clarity of the outcome and how to get there is so simple. The meetings always remove the clutter and bring everything down to a plan on one spreadsheet or piece of paper.” – Tom
“I am flat out at the minute – doing amazing things and the list of things to do its HUGE. But the best piece of advice I was given in this instance is from Martin Norbury about air traffic control at LHR and how they cope with thousands of planes a day. They land one plane at a time. Works every time.” – Kate
After I took a day and a half to sulk and get over my ego, this has been the best thing to ever happen. I’ve found that I’ve got time and control and draws to take things out of my head. So, when I need to address something, I just open the draw. I have structure in my day.” – Michael
“Martin is my sounding board and each time after speaking to him my overwhelm levels decrease and positivity levels about what needs to be done increases.” – Emma
