Yateley Silverbacks Basketball Club Announces New Sponsorship Deal with Amazon #1 bestselling book ‘I don’t work Fridays’
Yateley Silverbacks Basketball Club are pleased to announce a new sponsorship deal with Amazon #1 bestselling business book I don’t work Fridays by Martin Norbury for the 2022/2023 season.
Pete Daines, Yateley Silverbacks Basketball Club Founder, Chairman, Player, and Coach said:
“Over the last three years, Yateley Silverbacks has expanded from seven teams to fourteen, including a new U12s Girls National League team plus a significant increase in the number of our Ladies team. We could not have done this without the help from our Club Sponsors I don’t work Fridays whose financial support has meant we can hold all these extra training sessions safe in the knowledge we can cover court hire, as well as invest in new kits and essential equipment. Their funding has also enabled three members to complete their coaching qualifications, with a further three lined up.
“As well as the financial commitment, Martin, and Jacki – the owners of the company behind I don’t work Fridays – continue to provide business support, as well as manage our marketing and social media channels, which have become an essential part of our Silverbacks Community.
“In his book, Martin focuses on the importance of getting a team in the right environment, all aligned, to get the best results. Belief, learning from lessons, and routine are key themes repeated throughout, and these all fit with our club ethos.”
Martin Norbury, author of I don’t work Fridays commented:
“We are in the fortunate position to be able to support local communities and causes and love seeing the impact these have. The first step in our mentoring program focuses on helping business owners define what they want from their business and what they’re prepared to do to get that and creating their own set of TERMS is key to this. Our TERMS include time to watch and support our eleven-year-old twins play sports like basketball. If we can help attract more youngsters into the game to have fun, develop and grow into responsible and respectable adults, and more parents enjoy watching them train and play matches, then we have succeeded.
“The Silverbacks Club stands for inclusivity, encouragement, honesty, and commitment; all with a focus on playing to win, not playing not to lose – from the junior squads right up through to the seniors. There is much synergy with the core themes in our book and we’re hoping we can help reach even more of the broader community to enjoy the sport and support Yateley Silverbacks whether playing, coaching, or spectating.”
