Advocate’s Martin Norbury recognised as ‘Champion of Entrepreneurship’ in the Smith & Williamson Power 100
We’re feeling honoured and flattered today….we’ve just had news in that our very own Martin Norbury has been recognised as a champion of entrepreneurship in the 2017 Smith & Williamson Power 100. Norbury is featured in the Top 25, as voted by peers, and acknowledged alongside names like Simon Woodroffe OBE founder of Yo! Sushi, inventor of Air Miles and Nectar Card Sir Keith Mills, Sir Tom Farmer CBE who launched KwikFit, and market disruptor Peter Roberts who launched PureGym, now the UK’s largest gym chain.
From start-ups to scale-ups, the Smith & Williamson Power 100 has been designed to celebrate those who help shape policy, champion, mentor, support and promote entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship across the country.
Martin Norbury went from small time entrepreneur, to SME business owner and on to CEO of a multi-million-pound corporation in just ten years. Martin set up his mentoring business seven years ago to bring big business thinking to the SME world, and today his Scale Model™ is used across 50+ industries, earning him the badge of The Scalability Coach. In 2016 his fist book I don’t work Fridays reached #1 Amazon bestseller on its first day of release.
Norbury commented: “It’s a huge privilege to be recognised in this year’s Smith & Williamson Power 100, particularly as it’s voted for by peers. My passion to help entrepreneurs succeed – and get their balance, whatever that may look like – is my ultimate drive. This recognition celebrates exactly that.”
Guy Rigby, Head of Entrepreneurial Services at Smith & Williamson commented: “The Smith & Williamson Power 100 shines a spotlight on the often unsung heroes who play an active role in supporting the entrepreneurial community in the UK. It’s a credit to Martin to feature in the Top 25 alongside such illustrious names. Without these types of individuals, many businesses that are household names today would simply not exist – they are critical to the wellbeing and growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
