Yateley Silverbacks Basketball Club Announces Sponsorship Deal with Amazon #1 bestselling book ‘I don’t work Fridays’
Yateley Silverbacks Basketball Club are pleased to announce a new sponsorship deal with Amazon #1 bestselling business book I don’t work Fridays by Martin Norbury for the 2019/2020 season.
Club Founder and Chairman, Pete Daines, Head of Boys Sport at Yateley Manor and current Great Britain U18 Team Manager & South U11s Head Coach said:
“We’re excited to welcome I don’t work Fridays into the Yateley Silverbacks family, especially in this significant milestone 10th anniversary season for our community club. From humble beginnings with just one Senior Men’s team in 2010, we now have three Men’s teams, one Ladies team, mixed youth teams at U12, U14 & U16 level and our starter basketball sessions for the very young – the ‘Diddy Dunkers’.
In this time the adult sides have won five promotions, two League titles and four Play-off Championships. The Youth teams have won five Championship banners in just the past three seasons. We have ambitious plans to further expand and having I don’t work Fridays on board as a main sponsor will help us achieve these.
“In his book, Martin focuses on the importance of getting a team in the right environment, all aligned, to get the best results. Belief, learning from lessons, and routine are key themes repeated throughout, and these all fit really well with our club ethos.”
Martin Norbury, author of I don’t work Fridays commented:
“Last season, I was lucky enough to spend quality time with my family watching the Silverbacks play at home and during an exciting Play-off final victory. I’ve also seen first-hand the benefits this basketball club has bought our 7-year old daughter who enjoyed her first season playing with the Diddy Dunkers U8s – not just from a physical development perspective, but also teamwork, communication, respect, discipline and social skills.”
“Pete and his Silverbacks are all about inclusivity, encouragement, honesty and commitment; all with a focus on playing to win, not playing not to lose. There is much synergy with the core themes in my book, so when Pete approached us, it was a no-brainer. We’re hoping we can help reach even more of the broader community to enjoy the sport and support Yateley Silverbacks whether spectating or playing.”
