We bought the trees
We stayed in a beautiful Chateau in Normandy over the summer.
As we took in the peaceful surroundings over an apple brandy, we asked the owners (Alain and Anne-Marie) about the history and how they came about the place.
They fell in love with it 30 years ago and have worked tirelessly on the restoration ever since. Their story was full of eventful history from Gallo-Romans, to William the Conqueror, to surviving throughout the Wars.
But it was ONE thing that Anne-Marie said that really resonated with me:
“We bought the trees.”
You see, the Chateau is located in 15 acres of woodland and it was this they actually fell in love with and took the risk to invest in.
This week have a think about what your customers are really buying from you.
Remove the functionality of your product and service, and think about all your customer avatars, don’t just generalise.
Then take a look at your Sales and Marketing – are you currently shouting about this from the roof tops?
Keep sending your thoughts back to me as I enjoy reading and responding.
