Refusing to Give Up
Last week, we were surprised with a thoughtful gift from one of the ‘Masterminders’ that I help alongside Nigel Botterill. As well as a motivational card and some chocolates (that we’ve hidden from the kids), there was a copy of Charlie Mackesy’s beautifully illustrated book: The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse (to read with the kids).
It’s one of those rare books that speaks a universal language, and it was this quote that really struck a chord with me, now more than ever:
I recently ran a Facebook Live where I shared my view that the business world is no longer about B2B (Business-to-Business), or B2C (Business-to-Consumer). I believe we now live in the era of H2H; Human-to-Human.
We all need something to believe in, someone to believe in, and someone to believe in us; and it’s near impossible to achieve success without asking for help. Whether it’s help from a colleague, partner, friend, business network, mentor, book or external agency.
As we continue to split our own time here between Money Now and Money Future, we’ve invested in expertise to help us transform our ideas into action and results.
Last month, we started working with an agency based in Australia to help us with our book funnels, and whilst the Zoom calls can be challenging with the time difference, we’re confident in their skills to deliver what we need.
We’ve also teamed up with US-based mentor and author Scott Oldford who specialises in successful online businesses, to explore different ways of delivering mentoring.
Having this expertise – this help – is not only freeing up our time to focus on helping our own clients, it ensures we are held accountable and it’s taking away the stress and overwhelm that small businesses face day-to-day.
This week, I want you to think about the wise words from the Horse, and jot down what you need help on, and how you can go about getting this help.
