Much to learn, you still have
If you’re not a Star Wars fan, you’ll be forgiven for not knowing that it’s National Star Wars Day today (‘May the Fourth’ and all that).
But one thing you won’t be forgiven for, is not learning, as Yoda is famously quoted for.
“Much to learn you still have…my old padawan!”
However long we’ve been serving our marketplace for, and however long we’ve been running our own business(es) for, we still need to constantly learn, be it from ourselves, colleagues, mentors, books, masterminds, courses, external agencies, one another…
You may have a clear strategy, an aligned business, and some alerts set-up, but if you’re not learning every single day, it’s likely you’ll be repeating the same mistakes.
It’s incredibly frustrating and can be both timely and costly.
Everyone makes mistakes, the key is learning from them. This week I want to share 5 effective ways to help you:
1). Get out of the mindset of ‘we’ve always done it this way’ (this applies to everyone in the business).
2). Work out what makes your business tick and document these processes.
3). Have a process that logs every single issue, with one person accountable for solving, so you can learn and improve on each one.
4). Set the questions you want to ask your business and put measures in place.
5). Get into a routine of having focused, regular meetings that ask what happened yesterday? What are we doing today?
A growing business is an evolving business, and ignoring any learnings is a sure way to block you moving forwards in the right direction.
