Can You Make a Greater Impact?
Last week one of our clients (Emma) shared her Monthly Giving Stats for March.
Working alongside BUY1GIVE1 (B1G1), Emma decided that for every client they onboard, a portion of the profits will go towards causes that her team get to choose. So, in March they provided:
- 10 meals for orphaned children.
- 17 nights of shelter for homeless children.
- 101 meals for hungry and injured dogs.
Emma and her team (and their customers) have all enabled a greater impact and made a BIG difference in their own way, simply by doing what they normally do!
Not only does this help others who most need it, and makes you and those around you feel good, it also takes you from being a standard business to a standout business.
Being a force for good will move your Business Model from Push to Pull, allowing you to attract more loyal clients and to become a magnet for the best talent out there.
And in order to do this, you need to:
- Define your impact.
- Make people the core of your culture.
- Have a system in place to measure the outcomes and not just measure the outputs.
If you want to create your own impact and could do with some direction or inspiration, then listen (or re-listen) to a Podcast I did with Paul Dunn, Co-founder of B1G1, who’s Global Giving initiative has enabled businesses to create over 246 million giving impacts (so he knows his stuff!).

PS – yesterday we sponsored a charity football tournament and presented The Louise Norbury Trophy to a team I play for and a charity close to our hearts – Sands United FC. Whilst everyone played to win, there is never three points to play for, there is simply a desire to make our angels and families proud every time we play, and every match means the world to us all.
